The Ten Wine Commandments: IV

I.Thou shalt have no other beverages before wine

II.Thou shalt not make unto wine any graven image

III.Thou shalt not take the name of Krug thy Champagne god in vain

QuartsIV. Remember the "Open that Special Bottle Day," to keep it holy (Well, not so much keeping it holy as marking it on the calendar.  Set aside one day per month and open a special bottle with a special someone(s).  This month I plan on cracking a bottle of Baumard Quarts de Chaume, 2002 ($62).  My mouth is already watering in anticipation.)

Cheers to you Beau. Wine is for DRINKING people...it's not something you should keep for the rest of your life...like luggage!

Drink up...

Amen. I suppose if we were all outrageously wealthy, we could afford to have our very own little wine libraries. I just don't have the space, the $$, or the patience to age dozens of bottles.

That being said, I do have a couple bottles that I'm 'aging' (which, in my case means 2-5 years).

I'm pretty naive when it comes to Q.d.Ch. Would you recommend laying the '02 down for a few years before opening it? I know it's likely very ageworthy. I would hate to crack it before its prime.
