"Brickish-Reddish-Brown" :WBW#26

Whereswino_1_2 Entry#14 from Chad of Bottle Room:

Since I can’t give the name of the wine, I’ll give you the full picture. The label is an “artistic” rendering of three very happy ladies stomping on grapes while imbibing themselves with glasses of wine. The huge smiles on their faces let you know this is a “for fun” wine, one that shouldn’t be judged against the greats of the world.

Upon opening the bottle and pouring a small amount into my glass, the color appeared to be a muddy red* with flecks of brickish-reddish-brown around the edges and a more pure deep crimson in the deeper areas. Not quite the “elegant” color that I described from the shiraz I had earlier in the week, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Ther aromas were simple - dark fruits, a little oak and some spice. The back label of the bottle says this is a blend, so we have to expect a pretty full range of flavors are possible. As for the taste of the wine, the light-bodied liquid held true to its aroma and had hints of plum, black cherry, spice and oak. The tannins in the wine were relatively soft, hitting the sides of the tongue while the fruit washed down a short to medium finish.

Overall, not a wine I’d rush out to buy again, but definitely drinkable. I’d pair it with spaghetti with meatballs or some other simple meat dish. It’s not the prime rib or filet, maybe a skirt steak with mashed potatoes.

Whit's Inferior Good gives us entry#15:

This light to medium bodied red blend has a floral character and provides pleasingly restrained blueberry fruit. The wine is quite bright and fresh. While it had enough structure to successfully accompany my grilled rib eye, it’s definitely a juicy wine; it has a succulence that makes ya want to gulp it down.
