Jolie Holland: Phonograph Folk

Victorla
Jolie Holland is a folk singer with a very unique sound. Her recently released album, Escondida plays as if it was recorded from an old Victorola phonograph. It has that 'old-timey' feel. Ms. Holland could have written most of these songs during the Great Depression or as a youngster growing up in the Dust Bowl of the midwest.

Escondida

This album isn't a gimick. The sound compliments her quirky voice and retro song construction. It's available on iTunes. Have a listen there, or visit her Website here.
