Justin Isoceles
1999 Justin Isoceles ($48)
Clear, deep garnet-ruby fading to a pale garnet-ruby rim. Clean, with an intense, developing nose of cassis, blackberries, wood spice, and leather. Dry, with medium acid and medium, ripe tannin. Full-bodied, with an intense palate similar to the nose, with an herbal, anise flavor layered in with the rich fruit and oak. Medium-high alcohol and long length. Black fruit finish lingers throughout the palate. An excellent quality Bordeaux-style blend from Paso Robles. Drinking nicely now, with great fruit concentration and a solid tannin/acid structure to last another 8-10 years.
