"Rustic Blackberry" :WBW#26
Tim, the Winecast maestro signals entry#12:
Dark ruby-purple in color with rustic blackberry and licorice aromas. In the mouth this is a rich and powerful wine with concentrated black cherry and blackberry flavors finishing with white pepper and dusty tannins. A delicious value in old vine Grenache.
- 14.5% ABV
- Natural cork
- Score: 90
Doc Vino prescribes entry#13 with one big, fat clue:
I'd never had a wine from this region, so how could I say no? To the ear, is that a faint techno beat that I hear? To the eye it is dark, opaque purple rising to a garnet hue at the rim. On the nose, it is plummy and rich with a hint of mountain herbs, eucalyptus maybe. On the palate it is dense and extracted with cherry and blackcurrant, a whiff of wild animale, and tannins. Overall, I like it but don't love it for the price. But I'd be willing to check back after 3-5 years in the cellar.
