Ok Andy, enlighten me. Give me the $0.10 tour of Albert's history.

Andrew

I thought you would never ask!

Albert, younger son of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha born 1819.... in 1839 visited his cousin, Queen Victoria in London... love at first sight... married February 1840. Nine children.

Albert had a keen interest in arts and sciences... planned and managed the Great Exhibition 1851. Profits from which went to building Royal Albert Hall and the South Kensington museums.

1857 Albert given the title of Prince Consort... four years later died of typhoid fever. Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens, designed by Sir George Scott, erected in his memory in 1871.

Great! Thanks, that was more like the $0.25 tour - I got some bang for my buck. Cheers, beau
